American Border Collie Association  “The ABCA exists to register, maintain and verify the pedigrees of Border Collies, to promote and foster in North America the breeding, training and distribution of reliable working Border Collies, and to promote stockdog trials and exhibitions.”

International Sheep Dog Society  “The registry for working border collies in the United Kingdom.”

American Kennel Club   With the growing popularity of herding. The AKC currently recognizes ABCA registrations, under their open registry program. This gives herding competitors another venue. (*Caveat- Be aware that as of January 1, 2004, any dog named a Conformation Champion through any registry will have it’s ABCA Registration rescinded and it’s offspring will not be eligible for registration with the ABCA.)


National Cattledog Association  “The mission of the NCA is to encourage efficient, low stress and humane cattle handling by promoting the use and demonstrating the value of well trained cattledogs.”

United States Border Collie Handler’s Association “USBCHA is (one of) the sanctioning bodies for sheep and cattledog trials trials throughout the United States and Canada.”

Outback Stock Dog Association “The OBSDA was formed in 2008 by members interested in learning more about and improving their use of working stock dogs on their own operations.
